Abstract

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) has been recognized for more than three decades as one of the most relevant evidence-based therapies, which is why it occupies a privileged place within the so-called third generation or third wave therapies. The purpose of this article, more than doing a statistical meta-analysis or doing a clinical study, is to carry out a reflective exercise, since the scope of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy has been extended not only to clinical, experimental, and psychotherapeutic, but have had a profound impact on the scientific literature of behavioral, cognitive and contextual therapies. The approach to anxiety disorders from the Acceptance and Commitment Therapy has shown a solid and very strong quality in the data obtained, which is why it is one of the most effective therapies to treat anxiety, exhibiting itself as one of the most effective treatments. for the entire wide range of problems surrounding anxiety and associated disorders.
