Inteligencia Emocional: Recopilación de Antecedentes y Transición Hacia un Concepto de Destrezas Emocionales

Para entender el concepto general, es de vital importancia la división de cada una de sus partes, y definir a través de la historia su incidencia en la sociedad actual. Thurstone y Thorndike crearon un concepto de “inteligencia multifactorial”, la cual conecta un sin número de capacidades, pero cada una de ellas con tareas independientes; en cambio, Guilford desarrollo un modelo tridimensional, en la cual la inteligencia debe ser tomada en consideración por sus operaciones, contenidos y productos, esto en cualquier actividad en la cual se requiera de la misma. En el camino a una definición concreta, Horn y Cattell integran las concepciones de todos los estudios pasados y crean dos tipos de inteligencia, una inteligencia fluida responsable del aprendizaje de nuevos conceptos; y una inteligencia cristalizada responsable de la utilización de los aprendizajes previamente adquiridos, esto posicionando a la inteligencia como una serie de procesos psicológicos. Actualmente el concepto de inteligencia emocional ha sido reevaluado para dar lugar a un concepto en el cual confluyan, tanto psicólogos experimentales, como neurocientíficos y neuropsicólogos, dando lugar a una transición epistemológica y científica mucho más objetiva: las destrezas emocionales.
